Severe weather in Kent and East Sussex closes shools and causes road and rail delays

Severe winter weather returned to south-east England today, causing renewed travel disruption.

Kent and East Sussex were worst hit by overnight snowfall, with accumulations of up to 10cm in places. More was forecast for this morning, with high winds likely to create deeper-lying snow in places.

The cold snap is expected to last until the weekend, but is not forecast to be as severe as conditions last month.
